Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Backstop, a non-custodial interface to smart contracts on Robinhood Chain. By connecting a wallet or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Last updated: September 2026
1. What Backstop is
Backstop is a website that provides a front-end interface to publicly deployed, immutable smart contracts. We do not operate a broker, exchange, bank, or custodian. We never take custody of your funds or tokens, cannot move or freeze them, and cannot reverse, cancel, or refund any blockchain transaction. Every action is initiated and signed by you from your own wallet, and is executed by the smart contracts and the underlying blockchain, not by us.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these terms. You may not use Backstop if you are located in, or are a resident or citizen of, a jurisdiction where doing so would be unlawful, or if you are subject to sanctions or listed on any prohibited-persons list. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including tax obligations.
3. No financial or professional advice
Nothing on Backstop is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset, or a recommendation of any token. Tokens launched through Backstop are created by third parties, are highly speculative, and may lose all value. You are solely responsible for your decisions and should do your own research and consult your own advisers.
4. User-created tokens
Anyone can create a launch. Token names, symbols, images, descriptions, and links are supplied by the creator, not by us. We do not review, endorse, guarantee, or vouch for any token, creator, or the accuracy of any information a creator provides. The mechanics of bonding, refunds, graduation, claiming, and fees are enforced entirely by the smart contracts as described in the Docs; those contracts, not this website, determine outcomes.
5. Assumption of risk
You acknowledge and accept that using Backstop involves significant risk, including:
- Smart-contract bugs, exploits, or economic attacks that could cause partial or total loss.
- Extreme price volatility and low or no liquidity in graduated pools.
- Loss of access to your wallet, keys, or seed phrase, which we cannot recover.
- Blockchain congestion, reorganizations, failed transactions, and gas costs.
- Regulatory changes that affect the availability or legality of the service or of any token.
You use Backstop entirely at your own risk and are responsible for any losses.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Backstop to:
- Break any law, or launch a token that infringes intellectual property, impersonates others, or is fraudulent or deceptive.
- Launder money, evade sanctions, or finance illegal activity.
- Manipulate markets, or interfere with, attack, or reverse-engineer the site or contracts.
- Upload malware or content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to share.
7. Fees
Protocol, trading, and refund fees are described in the Docs and are charged automatically by the smart contracts. You are also responsible for network gas fees. Fees may change for future launches; the terms a launch was created under are fixed at creation.
8. Third-party services
The site relies on independent third parties (wallets, RPC and hosting providers, price feeds, chart and market-data providers, and IPFS pinning). We do not control them and are not responsible for their performance, availability, or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.
9. No warranties
Backstop is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site or contracts will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Backstop and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of funds, tokens, profits, or data, arising from or related to your use of the site or the smart contracts, whether based in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Backstop and its contributors from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the site, your launches or trades, or your violation of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
12. Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the website at any time without notice. The deployed smart contracts, however, are immutable and remain accessible on-chain independently of this site. We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use means you accept them.
