Privacy Policy

Backstop is a non-custodial, wallet-based application. There are no accounts and we do not collect personal information. This page explains what happens with data when you use the site.

Last updated: September 2026

What we do not collect

Backstop has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. We do not ask for or store your name, email, phone number, or any other personal identifier. We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not collect it.

Wallet and on-chain activity

To use Backstop you connect a self-custody wallet. Your wallet address and the transactions you sign (bonding, refunding, graduating, claiming, trading) are recorded on the public Robinhood Chain blockchain. That on-chain data is public, permanent, and not controlled by us — anyone can view it on a block explorer. Connecting a wallet does not give us custody of your funds or the ability to move them; every action requires your signature.

Information handled by the site

  • Blockchain reads are proxied through our server so an API key stays private. These requests include the data needed to read the chain (for example, a wallet address you are viewing) and standard technical details such as IP address and user agent, which may appear in transient server logs.
  • Local browser storage keeps convenience state on your device (such as your wallet connection and UI preferences). It is not sent to us and you can clear it any time.
  • Token images you upload when creating a launch are pinned to IPFS via a third-party pinning service and referenced on-chain. Do not upload anything you would not want to be public and permanent.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

Third-party services

The site loads data from independent services, each with its own privacy practices:

  • RPC provider — relays blockchain read/write requests.
  • Coinbase / CoinGecko — ETH/USD price reference.
  • Dexscreener — charts and market data for graduated pools.
  • IPFS pinning (Pinata) — hosting for uploaded token images.
  • Hosting/CDN provider — serves the website.
  • Your wallet provider — signs transactions.

When you interact with those features, your browser communicates with those services directly and they may receive your IP address and request details under their own policies.

Children

Backstop is not directed to anyone under 18 and is not intended for use by minors.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
